With over hundreds of thousands of blogs being produced daily, the quiz, comes to mind... "Can you blog your way to internet riches and financial freedom"?
While a good estimate of bloggers only blog for something to do as a hobby, there are another good estimate of habitancy who blog to sell a stock or affiliate a stock from man else's website. There are any forms of marketing you can affiliate onto a blog to make money from. One of the most common forms of marketing I see on blogs is AdSense, because it's the easiest to concentrate onto your blog allowing blogger to input ads even in in the middle of posts.

Earning nickels and dimes off AdSense isn't the only way to make money off of blogs though. Whether it's a simple template like blogger or a wordpress which is easier to customize in my opinion, blogs are free and limitless with what you can do with them. So when you ask the question, "is it inherent to earn a living off the internet using only a blog"? Nothing is impossible.
You have to add fresh and unique article and offer readers something they can't get assuredly other places or otherwise they're just going to go elsewhere. You've got to offer them fresh unique article that intrigues them and sparks their interest if you ever hope to make a sale or get a lead from your blog. A good blog that has inherent to make a ton of money requires constant upkeep and a lot more than a website in my opinion.
I'm not doubting a blogger's inherent to make a fortune off of a well groomed blog but I am however stating it would without fail be a lot different game than running a website because the maintenance required is a lot more work than most habitancy are used to and a lot of time is required to keep any readers intrigued and to contribute new fresh article that sparks their interest. If your article is good sufficient and your readers are hooked, your ads/products on your blog will sell themselves and you will gain profit.
If your a well established marketer than starting a blog for your fortune may not be the worst idea, but it is without fail not recommended for newbies or habitancy trying to break into the internet marketing world because it's a hard game and requires much more than habitancy starting out can handle.
